Hythe as a Squadron

We parade twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1930 and 2130 hrs. You can find details of our location on our Find Us page. If you would like help getting here there is an interactive map available. Just click 'Find Us' at the bottom of this page. We have around 30 cadets at this squadron, both male and female, along with members of staff. As a progressive squadron, we are very focused on the future and ideas on how to constantly improve our squadron. We are part of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wing which is one of 6 Wings in South West Region. There are 6 Regions in the Corps.

Our Facilities

We have a building and two portacabins which provide us with 4 classrooms which we use for teaching and project work as well as a hall which we use for initiative exercises and social events. We also have a sit in simulator where you can get realistic practice flying many different aircraft. We have an outdoor area and access to a tarmac area across the road where we practice drill and run outside activities. We also use the local park for sporting activities. We are always looking to improve our facilities however we can to ensure that we are always providing you with the best resources possible.

How do I Join?

To join the Air Training Corps (ATC) you must be between 13 and 16 years old. Beyond that there are no other restrictions at all. Uniform is provided for you and almost all activities such as Flying, Gliding and Shooting are free. For more information on what we get up to inside the corps check out the 'Activities' page. The Air Cadets is an excellent way of meeting new people and getting involved in activities you would not get the chance to experience anywhere else. If you would like to join our squadron then please check out our Contact Us page to arrange a visit.
